This past weekend I was invited by my buddy, Blake Scott to attend the Del Mar Horse Races on behalf of legendary shoe maker Crosby Square.

Crosby Square has been making shoes since the 1930’s. Needless to say the iconic design of these hand crafted silhouettes make for a handsome loafer, oxford, brogue and monk.

Sunday morning Blake Scott, Perkins Bien Amie, J Fig and I all took the train from Downtown LA to San Diego. Crosby Square sent along a cocktail kit so we could enjoy old fashions and talk shop. When we arrived in Solano Beach we headed straight to the Omni La Costa Resort + Spa. Suited up and we were off to the races!

Once at the Del Mar Tracks, we were taken for an exclusive look at the paddock and even met some of the jockeys and horses. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served in the iconic Director’s Room. It was incredible to hear the roaring stands cheering as bets had been placed to win. A few of our guys even won!

From the tracks we headed to Cucina Enoteca and had a fantastic dinner. Signature cocktails were served alongside sea food and flat breads. Laughing for hours, chatting about anything and everything, and maybe a little dancing from yours truly.

Back at the resort we each had a gift bag curated for the trip. Michter’s Bourbon and Whiskey for the gentleman in us, and VOSS water to keep the party going.

Weekend warriors at their best! Can’t wait for the next trip and to see my boys again.
